Pre-Engineered Gas Kiln Ventilation Systems
Designed for updraft, downdraft, top- and front-loading kilns, standard Vent-A-Kiln ventilation systems for gas-fired kilns feature:
- Stainless Steel Stack
- Chimney Cap
- Storm Collar
- Anchor Plate
- Fire-Stop Radiation Shield
- Intake Hood
Standard hoods are metal spun from 18-gage galvanized steel with a large diameter of 36 inches tapering to a 10-inch diameter collar. Hoods are lightweight in design and attach easily to the stacks. Three eyebolts are provided for hanging the hood.
Custom hoods can be fabricated if our standard hood does not fit your application. Square or rectangular shapes, stainless steel or galvanized steel are examples of customization.
Stacks (10-in. ID; 12-in. OD) are fabricated from stainless steel with an insulating thermal tech blanket (1-in. thick) encased between the inner and outer walls of the stainless steel. Locked into position, the thermal tech blanket keeps the outer wall of the chimney cool, while ensuring high flue gas temperatures for optimum draft performance. This eliminates hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations. There is no sifting or settling and no dangerous voids.
Stacks are designed with ease of installation in mind. All components twist-lock together eliminating the need for messy sealants and cumbersome clamps. The sleek one-inch wall design provides for easy installations, such as placement through 16-in. on-center (OC) rafters.
- Stacks are tested and listed to the UL 103 HT standard including one hour at 1400°F (760°C) and three 10-minute chimney fire test at 2100° (1149°C).
- Stacks are rated for 1700°F (927°C) intermittent and 1000°F (538°C) continuous duty flue gas temperatures.
